I open Nuendo 12 today and suddenly there are no more Control Room presets. Zero. The presets I spent so much time configuring for Atmos and my Apollo x 16. But what could have happened? Everything else is here (in Appdata). It’s not that the COntrol room configuration linked to the project has disappeared - we’re used to that - but the presets in the drop-down list have…
Have you searched the drives using the OS browser to verify that they still exist on drives? I would think that if they’re still in the correct folder it’s a Nuendo preferences problem, and if they’re deleted it’s possibly (likely?) an issue outside of Nuendo.
Thank you Matthias. Yes, I did that search and I couldn’t find anything.
But, afterwards I remembered, I had cleaned the registers with CC Cleaner. I tried to restore it to its former state when I noticed it, but to no avail. Otherwise, I don’t know what happened. Anyway, I had no choice, I rebuilt my setup. It didn’t take that long in the end.
Have you made a backup this time? Just in case… to be on the safe side.

It just happened to me today (I also use N12) did not cleaned anything, (But last session just crashed ).
I think it’s probably a nuendo problem.
It’s weird because It kept my audio input busses names, and all other preferences settings, but lost only the control room presets and audio connections (F4) presets
Any help ?
The same thing happened here! I have backup from my (user/appdata/Steinberg/Nuendo12(13)/presets) → controlRoomPreset.pxml. And if this happens again, just drag and drop file back again.

Arrived again this morning. But why is it that whenever there’s a crash (and I’ve been getting a lot of that lately!), the control room configuration doesn’t follow the session? It’s a problem.
What do you mean by “follow the session”? The basic idea is that Control Room is just like an actual control room controller but virtual. Since we want to keep our control room the same regardless of the job we’re on it is independent from our projects. it would make sense to me then if it is affected somewhat differently from crashes compared to the project file.

I occasionally get the same proble and it happened just today. openend a session that i was working on yesterday and there was no audio to be heard. i checked the cobtrol room and all my presets weere missing and all my patching was gone.
Input is fine as is ouput, just control room has gone AWOL.
I haven’t been making regular backup of the roaming presets foler in windows 11 so silly me, but it’s a shame I should need to. I’d love to know what resets/deletes these presets.
