My little 25-key AKAI LPK25 MIDI controller seems to have stopped working with a recent Windows 11 OS update, after working reliably for years back on Windows 10.
It shows up fine in Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Port Setup, but Nuendo (and by extension, any VSTi host like Kontakt 8, etc.) receives no input when pressing keys.
Is this something dumb I have somehow overlooked, or is it some kind of change made by Windows 11 (or the very latest Nuendo 14.0.40 update) that I’m unaware of?
Thanks for any tips! I’d normally just reinstall the device, but it doesn’t require a driver and doesn’t even have an installer.
Hi,
Is it plug-and-play device or does it have own driver? If there is a dedicated driver available, try to reinstall it, please.
you’re not using a UAD interface are you? there’s a problem with UAD software whereby it hoses the midi inputs on windows.

Finally fixed this - after wasting time cleaning out old MIDI registry entries and uninstalling old USB ‘ghost’ drivers in Device manager, trying different ports and cables, it turns out that a recent UAD Console update was to blame (!!!), which I found over in the Cubase forum.
Rolled it back to 1.2.4 (from 1.2.7) and all is well, including my Console 1 Fader Mk III that was also affected (and I thought was another issue entirely).
Sloppy, SLOPPY programming over there, UAD…get your crap together!

Every person who runs across this blames Windows first. I do wish UAD had sent an email to their registered customers explaining the situation, as it impacted every Windows 10 and 11 user.
