I’m using the “Cycle follows Range Selection” feature and in Nuendo 12 it was possible to reset the Cycle Range by simply clicking somewhere else, thus resetting the Range Selection and therefore the Cycle Range as well:
Now, with Nuendo 14 the Cycle Range doesn’t reset anymore and just stays at the last Range Selection:
How am I supposed to reset the Cycle Range now? Is this a bug?
Seriously, no one? This is the most annoying thing I’ve experienced in years of using Nuendo. I always have loop mode enabled and reset my cycle range by simply clicking somewhere in the project with the range selection. Just like it is in Pro Tools. But I can’t do that anymore. How do you guys reset your cycle range now?
Can at least someone from Steinberg confirm whether this is a bug or a removed functionality?
I’ve never had Nuendo work like that for me, but I only briefly tried 13 and have been using 14 since the release. I would really like to know about this too — I think I would really like this in my workflow.
IIRC I never tried to use this functionality as a complete reset for the locators’ range.
I can however make a new one in another spot. But isn’t that simply the expected behaviour of a setting called ‘Cycle follows range selection’’ ?
Wait are you not simply creating a very tiny range selection in your example?
Yes, when clicking in an empty space Nuendo basically creates a range selection, where the beginning and the end are the same . That is just the default behaviour of Nuendo. I don’t manually drag out a small range.
But the cycle range doesn’t adapt to this “tiny range” anymore which it did since Nuendo existed. I just want this functionality back!
Whether or not it is a small selection/range, it works dor me the way you described. I m not in the srudio today but will show what i mean later thus week.
Same bug here although I suspect it was an intentional change even if it breaks long established workflows. Probably unlikely Steinberg will change it back to how it was/should be but maybe if they’re more aware of how bad this new behaviour is they might change it back.
