N14 New Modulators DO NOT get exported with ADM output. (So Far)

Spent the day mixing a Dolby Atmos song using the new Modulators on the VST Panner which works really well. Unfortunately they DO NOT get exported with ADM export. Anyone else had that experience yet? Cheers.

As far as I can gather from playing around with the new modulators…you simply cannot write the LFO, sequencer movements etc to the track they are controlling. Because of this oversight, those modulated pans etc don’t get exported in the ADM export.
You can write movements you make to the modulator but thats it as far as I can see. I’m a bit perplexed as to why we cannot permanently write the modulator to recorded automation within the track.

If the modulators operate on the audio signal itself it’s pretty easy to see why it wouldn’t be included in an ADM file. You’d need to write actual pan automation to the pan-automation lane itself I would think.

Yes, Its already clear that ADM file require actual automation on the tracks, but its now also clear that because the modulators cant write the modulation to track automation they cant be used effectively for a Dolby Atmos session like the OP ‘Wheels’ wanted.

You can however, render in place the track with its modulated volume/pan etc, but thats about it.

Oh this is good to know.. I hope they ‘fix’ this (or just implement it) because I would to record the automation, then pause the modulator (lower the cpu load) and play back the written automation.
here’s a quick gif that demonstrates the lack of recording the modulators targets (volume and pan).

modulator automation issue

Yes, it would be nice if they fixed this. I ended up outputting a 7.1.4 mix of just the 6 tracks that had modulators and bringing it back into the session while muting the original tracks. Render in place said it would take 55 minutes!

55 minutes! wow that is some cpu load haha.

please sb fix this.. this is an important feature for us.

btw I just learned that you can have the modulator learn itself as a target. so I’m now creating very complex waveforms for the LFO that are not available in the Waveform options

Yes, the potential and routing in these modulators is great. Just seems a pity that they cannot work as external modulator and write their magic permanently to a track.

yeah I think we have established that already

Yeah, I think we did. Reestablishing the unestablished.
