Hi, when I import audio files in N15 it is defaulting to putting them all on the same track where all previous versions of Nuendo asked whether I wanted same track or different tracks. I’ve looked through the settings and I can’t seem to find how to make it ask again.
It’s very rare that I actually want imports on the same tracks. This is a big issue for my workflow.
Ok I found it in the setting. This was an obnoxious thing to change. IDK why Steinberg thinks importing multiple files to the same track should be a default, but no previous upgrade has ever changed this setting. I assume this is some workflow that benefits post productions. In the future…please just leave the default actions that the user already had.
Ah, thanks for pointing this out. Yeah, that was stupid on Steinberg’s part.
Also, when importing multiple audio files, why can’t Nuendo simply strictly import them as a separate bunch? If a current audio track on the timeline is selected, part of that import gets put onto that audio track and other audio tracks below it, which is really irritating and annoying. I always have to go to the bottom of the timeline, create an audio track there, then import the multiple batch, of which the first file will end up on that audio track unnamed. But the rest is okay. This is really goddamned irritating.
YES! That has been irritating all along. Just make it part of the same dialog that asks if you want separate tracks - “Create new tracks starting after currently selected” or something.
