I’m working on a score where a single player will alternate between chimes and glockenspiel. I’d like for the condensed staff to be named Pitched Percussion, at least on the first page.
I’ve changed the player name to Pitched Percussion in the Players panel in Setup, but I’m still getting the condensed staff identified as Chimes on the first page of the full score, because that’s the first instrument that the player plays in the score).
Any suggestions for getting this condensed staff to appear with my desired name on the first page of my score would be welcome – thanks!
In Layout options>Staves and Systems, check the player name. You can also choose whether you want to show the player name on all systems or only on the first one. If you want the same for the part, make sure to do the same thing for both the Full score layout and the part layout (you can select them in the Layouts panel on the right).
If you want the player name shown on all pages of the full score, make sure that in Setup mode you change the player name by right clicking and choosing Rename player. That way you can also change the abbreviated player name.
