Names question

Hello everyone.

Can you suggest any ways (if they exist) to permanently transfer the clip name in Audio Montage? I have a number of clips with their own names. I sorted them into groups, and now I want the group names to be retained permanently. Copying manually is too long and tedious.

What are the possible solutions? When changing the naming scheme in rendering, I can’t find an option to add the group or region (markers in general), in batch naming for clips – it also doesn’t offer the group name.

Or am I missing something? I would appreciate any suggestions.

In the Montage try
Right click on “File Group”
and Rename File Group or Export File List…
if this not what you mean give an example

Thank you for your responses, but this is not quite what I’m looking for. My task is as follows:

I do cutting, editing, and everything else in WaveLab,

but I want to handle metadata in Soundminer. To make the transfer easier, I want to export files with the names of the groups,

the track they are located on, and the region. During editing, the files shift, but the group name assigned to them in the Audio Montage remains.

To simplify working in an external application, I want to retain these names. I can’t find this information in WaveLab’s metadata, nor in the naming scheme during rendering.

Is there any way to achieve this? Even when saving to a CSV file, the group names are not retained.

Thanks for the explanation. Sorry, this is not possible.

I understand that if you have a clip called “piano” and and its clip group called “orchestra”, you want to render the montage title as either
orchestra_piano.wav or orchestra/piano.wav (that it, creating a sub-folder).
Is that right?

Or do you also need metadata support aside this?

I don’t necessarily need a subfolder ; I just need to resolve the file naming issue to simplify my work in Soundminer. I don’t want to re-audition the selected files, regroup them, etc. If there is any way to process metadata in WaveLab (but with groups or by region markers, possibly), I would appreciate any suggestions—this option would also work. The main goal is to simplify the transition from one application to another.

Thank you.
