Shouldn’t that circle be located below the triplet, just above the note head? Is there a way to automatically adjust it?
And when I adjust the size of the note head, the circle shifts slightly to the right of the center of the note head. Is there a setting to automatically adjust this?
When using ‘diamond’ notation, the circles on the sounding top note aren’t needed.

That wasn’t my question. Many composers notate both fingering positions and sounding pitches simultaneously. So there’s no answer to my real question?

@PjotrB is correct. With diamond notation the circle is redundant, even when notating the sounding pitch.
The answer to your real question is No, apparently there is not a setting that places tuplets outside note attributes such as harmonics. You would have to reposition them manually. FWIW I agree that this placement doesn’t make sense. (But I also agree with the others that you shouldn’t use the circle in this case.)
