Navigating to cues

How do I navigate to “next cue” in the full score? Is there a way?

Why do I want this?

I’m adding cues to my piece. They have 2 distinct functions:

  • helping counting rests - don’t need to see in full score
  • substitution of missing instrument - want to see in full score

To do this, I’ve added “show cues” in the Layout Options popup and then explicitly hidden the “rest” cues.

Ideally I’d rather do it the other way round, since there are far more “rest” cues than “play” cues.

But assuming there isn’t a “show” option, I need to jump to “next cue” in the full score. Doing it by eye is rather unreliable.

Hi @David_Keeffe, you can easily navigate between cues using the arrow keys, and then hide the desired ones:

That’s so useful to know! Thanks.

Hmm. It doesn’t work for me. The arrow key takes me to the next element (note, rest etc) and not the next cue. Is there a setting I need?

I’ve looked a bit deeper on this.

The arrow keys navigate between visible cues rather than signposts, and only within the current flow. Navigating between signposts doesn’t work, which means finding cues that might have been hidden in error is still a “by eye” process.

I still think an option to toggle “show” rather than “hide” might be useful.

I see, and can confirm this.
