Need some help with some small issues

Hi everyone. I recently did a reinstall of Windows using my backup image which includes all of my audio software and plugins already installed. I always create a backup image after doing a fresh install of Windows and all of my software. So I ran into a situation where I needed to reinstall that fresh image again.

In Cubase when I create a new audio track within a project now, it automatically loads every send I have in the project into the track. If I try right clicking and clicking reset, it doesn’t do anything. I have manually one by one remove the sends from the audio track.

when I link tracks, this has been going on for a year now even after fresh installs of windows and Cubase (not using the backup image) the sends do not link. Everything else does, except the send. When I adjust the send levels they do move together. So I have to do them individually.

Does anyone know of a reason for these issues? Thanks!

Oh, and yes I am using the latest version of Cubase 15 on Windows 11, also the latest version.

Hi,
this sounds like your preferences have gone rogue.
Try to start with preferences disabled (launch Cubase, hold down Ctr+Shift+Alt, a dialog window appears, pick that option). Does it work?

Yes:

  • make sure to save your customized settings and presets. Profiles spring to mind, they don’t carry over messed up settings and preserve a lot of settings/presets.
  • Do you have other Cubase versions (14 and below) on your system? In that case you should rename all preference folders from Version 13 upwards by adding an “_” up front. Otherwise, you could also use the dialog from above and set them back to their factory defaults.

Ahhhhh I didn’t think about that possibility! I will give that a try and update the thread once done.

No other versions of Cubase are installed.
