I foolishly ran the maintenance update to 15.0.21 during the middle of a project, and now I’m having all kinds of crazy issues with VSTi’s dropping audio, something I’ve never seen before. I’ve restarted numerous times and confirmed everything is routed correctly, and even started fresh projects and I keep running into this issue where libraries just stop working. Everything was great yesterday when I was on 15.0.20, so I think it would be worth trying to roll back to see if that’s the issue as it’s literally the only thing that has changed.
I still have the installer in my downloads folder but in spite of installing it, 15.0.21 continues to open. What’s the best way to roll back so I don’t lose all my preferences and presets and everything?
I’m on a Mac Silicon M2 with Sequioa 15.4. Thanks.
Also today I updated Media Bay when being prompted to do so. Wonder if that has any impact on audio and midi issues for some reason? This is really screwy. I’ve investigated using a midi monitor that anytime I press record, open automation lanes, or move the transport - there’s a ton of midi messages sent and it totally resets the sample library every time. If I remove “All Midi Inputs” and just select my keyboard it seems to stop that from happening, but still, very confused what’s going on suddenly.
I’m not too sure about Mac, I’m a PC user, but both OS store preferences differently. Here is how Steinberg explains it. I have rolled back on PC before and never lost my preferences. Whether that is true of Mac, I am not sure. As for Media Bay reloading, you might want to try to run the Steinberg library manager and check the download assistant for any updates.
Uninstalling the program won’t delete any preferences or presets (and even if they did, you hopefully have a working backup so in worst case could restore them…)
