Hi, I am having problems with Cubasis 3 on my iPad. i think I have messed something up when trying to update to 3.8. i seem to have lost various parts of the programme? Can i reinstall from scratch. i purchased in 2020 and have since lost access to the e-mail account i had at the time so i have no record of my original licence /activation details. When i go to the App Store i only get the option to open the app and no option to download. What can I do please ? Thanks. Chris
Hi Chris_Jackson2,
Welcome to the forum ![]()
I will try and offer some help.
Obviously you have kept up with the Cubasis updates, what is it you seem to have messed up?
Mike
Hi Mike, thanks for responding . since I tried to update to 3.8 I have lost most of the instruments except a few drums and 6 pianos and also don’t have the drum machine (micrologue and groove agent?). It occurs to me that I did have to reset my Apple ID password at around that time because of a security worry, I don’t see why that would impact anything but then I don’t understand what has happened anyway. I am now running on an iPad Pro with M2 processor, 1TB ssd and 16MB RAM.
I can’t think of anything else relevant just now.
Thanks
Chris.
Hi Chris,
This may be a dumb question, have you rebooted your iPad since resetting your Apple Pass Word?
I’m not sure what happens when you Reset your pass word but hopefully you still have access to the App Store and your original account is still active.
The instruments that you say you have lost,
- are they AUv3 apps and do they open in Stand-alone mode?
- are they instruments you purchased inside Cubasis? if so, have you tapped ‘Restore Purchases’
The next thing to check is: open your Files app, select:
On My iPad>Cubasis 3>Instruments, here you will see what Cubasis 3 Instruments you have, these folders are empty and are for any presets you make for each instrument.
If you feel a re-installation is necessary, first go into your
Files>On My iPad>Cubasis 3, select the Projects folder, copy it and paste it outside of the actual Cubasis 3 folder, you an then delete Cubasis 3 app and reinstall it, if everything now looks good, open your saved ‘Projects folder’, Select ALL, copy and paste in the new Cubasis 3 Projects folder and that’s it.
But definitely try the reboot first.
Mike
Hi Mike, I have rebooted the iPad and I still have access to the App Store and have actually purchased a couple of small apps in the last week.
The instruments I have “lost” are the ones that come with Cubasis as part of the program, I haven’t purchased any thing from within the app.
I don’t think I have a lot of choice so I will follow your instructions and try to reinstall and see what happens.
Thanks for your time and advice.
Cheers Chris
