Negative track delays affect Acoustic Feedback on notes with Expression Maps

Here’s the issue. I’ve configured the articulation switching in my BBCSO VST to use MIDI channels instead of key switches and created a corresponding expression map for that (the Attribute Type one). When I click a note in the Key Editor with assigned articulation to audition it (the acoustic feedback feature) I can hear correct articulation being played back… until I start messing with track delays. As soon as I set up negative delays for a couple of tracks say -120ms for “Violins I” and “Violins II” certain notes on one of the tracks play back articulation not their own but one from the previous note when clicked with the mouse. If the previous note articulation is “tremolo” and the note’s own one is “spiccato” Cubase will play back tremolo for this note. Strangely, it’ll affect only one of the two tracks the other one will behave correctly.

Overall the behavior is inconsistent so it’s even hard to tell which delay number on which tracks will cause issues. What’s more quirky it’s not enough to change the tracks delay back to zero to get rid of the problem. You need to restart Cubase for the changes to take effect. There’s some kind of caching involved or whatever I don’t know.

It’s not BBCSO’s issue as I’ve tried the same setup with HALion Sonic + Iconica Sketch. Same incorrect/inconsistent results arise once you start using track delays. This is clearly a bug in Cubase. The acoustic feedback on notes with articulations from expression maps should definitely account for track delays.

The transport playback itself does respect all the articulations properly as far as I can tell but please fix this note acoustic feedback bug.
