Neve Portico MBP

I recently purchased Nuendo 13 pro and plan to set up a final mix template. I also own a Rupert Neve Portico (rack mount hardware master bus processor ) that I’d like to use in my template.

I watched a YouTube video where Greg Ondo integrated hardware into Cubase so it could be selected and used like a digital plugin. For my mix template in Nuendo, I presume you can set up hardware that same way. In Nuendo I hope to add it to the master fader to add that final bit of presence and depth to the final mix.

The goal would be to write in Cubase 13 pro using a pretty standard set up with Sonarworks room correction software on the master, and when I am ready to mix, I would export/import the project into Nuendo without the sonarworks.

Does this make sense or am I missing something?

There really isn’t any reason to use both programs, you can probably do anything you want in Cubase including hardware inserts. FYI both programs open up either session file seamlessly.
Also, your room correction software should not be on the master if you are using Control Room. It should go on the inserts on the monitors only. HTH.

No need for Cubase with Nuendo 13.

As mentioned, you can do all of that in cubase…

In an attempt to be succinct, sometimes I leave out important details and miss the point altogether, so I apologize for repeating…

Even though I’ve used Cubase for quite a few years, I am not as techie as I ought to be. One of my biggest fears is to make a major change to my system and not have the knowledge to fix it (or even understand what went wrong).

I am trying to add hardware to the signal flow (Neve summing mixer and Neve Portico signal processing unit). I have a UAD Apollo interface with the required number of I/O’s and have run the cables to and from these units to the interface. The final step requires the user to create output/inputs in Cubase to route the signal. Dangerous Audio has an excellent video on how to do this and I finally have the courage to attempt it. My diabolical plan was to create these outputs and inputs in Nuendo, and if that works repeat the process for Cubase.

The sixty four million dollar question is:
Can I make these changes in Nuendo and not affect Cubase?
