New alternative fingering option

To add to this thread, it would be useful to have the alternate fingering placed outside of normal fingering (above for right hand and below for left hand). Currently, I am engraving yet another new method book (LOL) and there are alternate fingerings for scales that are introduced. The author/editor wants the fingerings in parentheses placed above right hand fingering and below left hand fingering.

I will make a new paragraph style for now. Are the fingering characters not the normal numbers and parentheses? I duplicated the font settings for the fingering font style, but the characters are different.

If you’re using the Bold font option in Engraving Options for the fingering numbers, then indeed, they are not the standard digits, but instead taken from this SMuFL range in Bravura (or whatever music font you’re using):
