Windows 10 64 bit - Cubase pro 14.0.40 - regardless of in ‘Transport Panel/Audio Record Mode’ and choosing ‘Keep History’, when I record a fresh audio take, later on in a audio track, it erases a prior recording in same track !!
BTW - I-will-not-touch Cubase ‘bling bling’ 15 until 14 is totally debugged - it’s like putting a fresh coat of paint on a house leaning over with rotting stumps - I have never known such drastic lock ups/freezes as in Cubase 14.0.40, even when it was sitting idle !!
Absent any details it’s nearly impossible for folks to offer useful suggestions on what’s occurring or how to resolve it. Screenshots are particularly helpful. For what it’s worth recording in C14 works exactly as expected here.
Do you want a page full of irrelevant details ? - just ‘ask’ what you want to know ! - and a screen shot is of no use in this situation, as for ‘what it’s worth recording in C14 works exactly as expected here.’ - well I’m happy for you, so why didn’t ‘you’ give more details of your set up so I could compare it to mine !! Have a good one.
Show lanes after recording and theres the old above if you need it.
None of this works of course as your cubase is locked up and frozen as you say yours is and I would sort that out first.
No idea how to do that as this is not the case here, or for most it would seem as sales and users would be zero after all this time the program has existed.
Because you are the person who has something that doesn’t work.
While I’m a person volunteering my time to help folks, like you, who are encountering problems. And, this is very important - none of us can read minds (shocking I know).
You are totally free to give as much or as little information about what’s happening as you want. Just be aware that like most things in life, the less relevant information you provide, the less likely you will get suggestions that resolve your issue.
On the other hand if you are just posting to vent your frustration (we’ve all been there) that’s OK too. But let us know so we don’t waste time trying to help someone who doesn’t want any help.
Of course not, the relevant ones are what we’re interested in.
Then tell me what’s relevant to you !! - and BTW, coming out with the old ‘I don’t have that problem you are having’ is just a statement and is of no help !!
Johnny thank you very much, it sure sounds like that could be it, will check it and get back to you - I also appreciate your ‘to the point’ approach, and without the needless non-subtle ‘I don’t have the problem you are having’ jab others tend to throw in !!
I hope it helps. But please understand that @raino asking for a screenshot and some more details is a perfectly normal response to a rather brief problem description. Not only people who ask for help deserve respectful treatment, also those who donate their spare time to help deserve it.
A fair call with two way respect - and thanks Johnny, your particular donated time helped towards a solution, including in my case add a ‘split’ in the audio track between a previous recording and a new recording to seperate them.
