New Comp, New C6

Installing C6 on another computer. Where can I get my key commands so I can import them into the NEW computer with C6.

On my other machines C6 just got the key commands from C5.

Thanks

I saved my presets but not find them with the other key command presets.

there is a folder path ending with
application data\Steinberg\Cubase 6\presets\Key Commands
or something very similar.
There you have all sorts of preinstalled Key Commands
Put your file there and open the Key Commands dialog from with in Cubase
There is a little icon at the right side looking like a folder
Click on it to Import a preset
Default is that it only imports *.key files form old Cubase versions
Change the file type to all files.
Now you will see your *.xml file so … just open it! :sunglasses:

Thanks for the reply Ulf.

I saw that folder but it did not contain my key command preset, just the ones that came with Cubase.

I think I might have the wrong file path (mac here).

If someone could tell me where exactly my saved key command preset file is on a mac, I would greatly appreciate it.

path to the active file last time Cubase 5 quit:
~/Library/Preferences/Cubase 5/Key Commands.xml

path to the Key Command presets that came with Cubase and those you saved from the key commands dialog box.
~/Library/Preferences/Cubase 5/Presets/KeyCommands/

Where ‘~’ is your home directory.

Thank you Steve, found it.

Cheers.

Great.
