Here’s a lyric video for my new pop rock Christmas song, “Christmas Rendezvous”, which released on music streaming and download services today:
It is the first recording fully produced on my new i9 285k-based Windows 11 system. What a difference that made (from my 11-year-old Win10 i7 5820k-based system) on the productivity front!!! I did most of the work in Cubase Pro 14, but I ended up making the final mix and master in Cubase 15 since it arrived pretty much right on time for that.
Toys used on this one included Superior Drummer 3 (with the Rock Solid EZX), In Session Audio’s Shimmer Shake Strike 2 (for the sleigh bells), IK MODO BASS 2, UJAM Virtual Guitarist Iron 29 (through the UAD Showtime 64 Tube Amp), UJAM Virtual Guitarist Amber 2, IK PianoVerse Concert Grand YF3, Arturia Jup-8000V (through UAD Woodrow 55 amp), and the choir pads trio of Arturia Augmented Voices, Arturia Emulator II, and a some Garritan choir patches (I think from GPO5).
Also worth noting is that this was my first time trying Arturia’s relatively new Mixdrums plugin (on the overall drums submix). I have to say I was pretty pleased with how that helped modernize the drum sound to suit the energetic vibe I was targeting with this one (something decidedly different from my more typical musical styles).
