When a phrase starts with an incomplete introductory short bar (anacrusis), I find it difficult knowing how to handle it.
A solution would be to specify the length of the silence before the first note of the bar in ticks. Is this possible?
From manual and midi preferences
“Extend Playback Range of Notes that start before the Part
This allows you to extend the playback range of MIDI notes that start before the partin ticks.”
So guess setting that to zero might work.
Otherwise using Punch In sounds like a possible way to exclude early notes.
I see that the capability exists in Dorico (which I don’t have) - unfortunately named as “pick-up bars”. If only this existed in Cubase.
