Minor issue here :
(Win11 / Cubase 15.0.21) When I use my “folding / unfolding” keyboard shortcut on the new hybrid folder_group, it unfolds but it shows the automation of the folder_group too.
With the mouse, when I click on the folder_group icon, it unfolds correctly, showing only the tracks.

I tried to reproduce this but could not.
Is this something that can happen with a newly created project or old project?

Both. I just reproduced it. In fact, when I use the shortcut “fold/unfold” on any audio or midi track, even if there’s no automation, it shows the volume automation track, like this :
And for the folder_group, like this :
So it seems that the new folder_group track follow the same behavior
Maybe when you click on the folder icon, it does not “call” the same function as “fold / unfold”. Only the devs can answer I think.. Are you one of them ? 
Well, like I said I can’t reproduce it myself so I am wondering if it’s either settings related, or perhaps something like trashing preferences might fix it? Just taking a couple stabs here.
Anyway maybe more info would help such as video, I don’t think what you are describing is intended.

Okay, I see now.
I get the same thing with the command: Folding: Toggle Selected Track
But, as you say, not with the manual mouse method, and not with the first method I tried using ‘Fold’ and ‘Unfold’ separate commands.
I think it’s strange indeed that this one even affects the audio track.
It also seems to be doing the same thing as Show Automation as well as track folding.
From the manual the following on the topic:
The following options are available:
Toggle Selected Track
Reverses the state of the selected track, with regard to folding.
Fold Tracks
Collapses all folder tracks in the Project window.
Note
The behavior of this function depends on the Deep Track Folding setting in the Preferences dialog.
Unfold Tracks
Expands all folder tracks in the Project window.
Note
The behavior of this function depends on the Deep Track Folding setting in the Preferences dialog.
Flip Fold States
Flips the state of the selected track in the Project window, with regard to folding. This means that all folded tracks are unfolded and all unfolded tracks are folded in.
To me it implies there should be no difference.
