And all other instruments, except the synths and samplers make sound when you hit play?
While that project is loaded, you could also do from the Dorico menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report which creates a zip file on your Desktop. Please attach that to a reply here. From the contained data I can check the internal routing of the plug-ins and instruments.
And to answer 2 earlier questions:
e.g. is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase exempli gratia, which means “for example” or “for instance”. It is used in writing to introduce one or more examples that illustrate a general statement.
In audio engineering,-∞dB (negative infinity decibels)represents absolute silence. Because decibels measure on a logarithmic scale rather than a linear one, scaling an audio signal to an amplitude of zero yields an output of-∞dB, meaning no signal or sound is passing through.
If you could copy your Dorico file, delete all bars except the first, and post the one-measure Dorico file here (or post it on a Dropbox-style site and post the link address here if the file is too large), that might help folks see what is happening.
We’re getting closer. I just created a new Analog Lab VST (8), assigned it a preset, connected it to Sampler, and it sounds in Play. So the problem is definitely in Pigments.
I found it. The reason only Pigments didn’t sound was because I had switched its MIDI channel from 1 to 2 in order to accommodate a two-keyboard set up in MainStage. As soon as I switched it back to 1 it began to work. So this wasn’t a Dorico problem at all. Thanks for all the suggestions tho. I learn something every time up here.
