The new MTF-Scorlatti font is gorgeous. If you have any doubts, try it.

SCORE was great at many things, but actually its glyphs were terrible. There were no curves: everything was built from straight lines, and often had chunks missing. Even allowing for this, there were some curiosities in the design. The C time sig is oddly square. The treble clef is well balanced, though.

So it’s odd that that have been so many fonts have chosen to base their designs on the glyphs of SCORE – Leland, Partita, Vienna, etc.

That having been said, Scorlatti is very well put together, and Abraham has made all the right decisions in improving the design.

Personally, I think Cadence is the best of the bunch. I would have probably stuck with that and not made Sebastian, were it not for a couple of very small quibbles.

@benwiggy Do you know of any way to adjust the padding/spacing for parentheses around dynamics in Cadence? It’s also my favorite of the bunch, but I’ve noticed that parentheses will overlap the forte/ff/fff glyphs with pretty much any typeface. (I notice that Sebastian deals with this very effectively.)

It would have to be done in the font itself. It’s possible that’s something that @dan_kreider and Philip could look at, in future revisions.

It’s also worth mentioning that Dorico uses the dynamics text font style for the brackets, rather than the parentheses in the music font itself.

Is it possible to install these fonts on iPad (Pro)?

Unfortunately not.

I’ve just installed MTF Cadence, and I really like it! A lovely font. I like the associated text font too.
