New Piece - "Fanfare and Processions"

Here’s a new piece for you, created in Dorico Pro 5.0.20 for a brass composers’ competition (I didn’t make the final 5, sad to say, but neither did 41 other competitors). It’s called “Fanfare and Processions,” and it’s written for Brass Sextet (2 Trumpets, F Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba). Please let me know what you think by clicking on this private SoundCloud link and listening to the work:

Thank you for listening!

A very fine, virtuoso composition that would also be nice to hear live. Thank you for sharing!

Great stuff Lee. Quite a challenge but I think you rose to it magnificently. Well done :clap::clap:

It’s a great piece, sir. How did you achieve that modern sound? My stuff always sounds too traditional and old-fashioned.

I don’t know about “modern,” but I kind of tried to emulate the sound of the Canadian Brass as I worked. They’ve got a distinct ensemble sound, and I wanted to match that as much as possible. Thanks for asking!
