New Project Template

Hi, I hope I can explain what I want clearly.
I would like to have a template that has all the setting that I use for projects that I send to my publisher. Things like:
Title Page
Program Note/Performance Note Page
Score and Parts setup the way I like.

I know how to save a new template for say a brass trio, for example. But is it possible to save all my setting in a “blank” template that I can then add instruments to. Or is the best solution to create a custom template with more than 1 instrument. so I can set the score and parts layouts, and then just change the instrumentation when I start a new project?

I hope I explained what I’m looking for clearly.

Thanks.

Yes, of course. You can just delete all the Players in your file, then save it as a template.

OK, sorry if I’m being real obtuse.

So I create a project with all the setting and pages I want. Then delete the players, and save as a template?

That will save all the info - titles pages, part and score layout?

Thanks again

Try it and see!

Yes, it should work fine.

OK. I set everything up the way I wanted, but when I go to “Save as Project Template”, the dialog box appears, but the SAVE button is greyed-out.

What could I be doing wrong?

You need to enter both Category and Name because Dorico then knows in which Category to put your template.

You find then the Categories in the Hub(*) and in the menu File → New from Project Template.

For example:

Category: My Templates
Name: Publisher XY Template

Then the Save button will return to life
