New to forum: Nuendo 2 problems

Hi everyone:
I get this message every time I boot up my older version of Nuendo 2
A serious problem had occurred: Please try to save your song under another name and then restart Nuendo2.xe. If this problem persists, please contact Sternberg Technical Support with a description of what do you do to create this problem, and the created file C:\ Program Files\Steinberg\Nuendo 2\Nuendo2.LOG

I have contacted Sternberg Canada. They don’t support the older versions of Nuendo anymore.
Because I can’t find my registration key (I moved several times), and my computer has been in storage for 3 years due to travel, (hence, no upgrades done), I can’t retrieve my recorded music. Any suggestions???

Is there a less expensive program that I could use to rescue my recorded music whereas I could edit and complete it??

Oh yes, I also am using Windows XP Home version on that same computer where the music is stored. PLEASE SAY SOMEONE CAN SUGGEST A SOLUTION!!! help!!!
