New to VST live- 10 mins in and about to quit

I thought that perhaps VST live might be a good answer to my live setup- I like to have live VST instruments that I can switch on the fly plus backing tracks that I loop so that songs can be flexible. I downloaded the trial version. I’m 30 minutes into VST live, trying to work with flexloops- tutorials are either vague or nonexistent, the manual is the same, and the behavior, i.e. I type in a value under trigger or duration, and it changes the number I typed…. what!!!??? Why can’t I set trigger and duration? Am I the only one that thinks this is completely counterintuitive.

I have zero problems reading manuals- love it in fact and prefer to watching videos- but at the same time, I feel like software should at least be somewhat intuitive, and when I get stuck, the manual or some tutorial vid ought to help. So far, I feel like it’s just a complete mystery. Can somebody either point me in the right direction, or tell me I’m wasting my time and I’ll go back to seeing if I can get Ableton to do what I want

I feel for you. When I started out it was really confusing. And manual and help videos are really lacking. But after getting the hang of the basic concepts it started falling into place. And I can say what you want achieve is really what the app is all about!

Good luck and have fun (eventually…).

We are currently updating the manual and it should be available shortly.

Click trigger field will set it to the current position, we found that most practical when setting multiple triggers.

Duration can be set in the “Duration” item which appears when FlexLoop is activated.

Thanks for the replies, all. I haven’t given up yet. Hopefully I’ll make enough progress during the demo/trial period for me to justify buying the software.
