Hi there, Newbie question about Wavelab 13 and adding Metadata IRSC codes, etc.
I don’t burn to CD anymore, but would like to embed the IRSC code and infromation onto my original Master BWF. I don’t want to start messing around with it until I get a grasp of what I should choose rather than CD-Text, or any related ‘CD’ files…
Hi! Do a search here in the WaveLab forum and you get a couple of topics about this subject “adding Metadata IRSC codes” hope it helps! I think you mean ISRC code.
There’s a factory preset in the Metadata editor called ISRC (AXML + ID3v2). This shows you how / where to embed ISRC into a BWF file. See also: ISRC in BWF
In my opinion, the way to think about it is to take a step back. You don’t add ISRC codes and metadata to the files directly, you add certain info to your Audio Montage and then with the correct Metadata Preset/Parameters and Rendering Presets, any and all files you render from the montage will be populated with metadata and ISRC codes (if present).
This includes any WAV formats, mp3, DDP, and some others but those are the only formats I personally have experience with and render daily.
This approach means you just have to enter the info one time, some of it being easily auto-populated, and whatever format you render as well as any revisions gets the exact same metadata without any extra effort or room for human error.
It’s very simple and efficient once you grasp the concept and setup a workflow and presets to do it.
For me, the metadata comes from a combination of CD-Text, Marker Names, and other hard data from the montage itself.
This livestream is a bit old now and some smaller details have changed but the concept is still the same:
