New Tune (original)

Hi there, i havn`t been on this site for a long time,the last time i posted a tune on here the sub forum was called “made in cubase”,guess it dosn`t exist anymore. This is a mid 80s tune i have revamped from a 4 track recording and included some of the original tracks in this version , im just looking for feedback on my mix ,i think it does sound a bit bright and maybe a bit lumpy and probs need compressing but thats easier said than done .any way im up for any guidance, see what you think .Thanks

I absolutely love it! I take it that the exclusion of a hihat is intentional?

So much cool rhythm stuff in the guitars, and I love the different guitar sounds, riffs and chords. The guitars are nice and upfront, I actually think the mix is really good already. Not too bright at all – the low mids are coming through nice and warm. I don’t think it needs compression either. Are you on Bandcamp? I would love to hear more of your music.

EDIT: Found your Bandcamp, but really hope you add those new tracks there also! :smiley:

EDIT2: This is getting stalker-like, sorry, but I love your guitar playing. It’s like Robert Fripp met with Frank Zappa and John Scofield and they merged into the same person!

Definitely not junk!
This may just be me, but… The “featured” guitar in the first half sounds like it’s in a different room from the rest of the band.

thanks for the listen and i`m glad you enjoyed the track ,there is a bit of hihat now and again but just in certain sections.i used some of the patterns in groove agent and re ordered some of the stuff to try make it suit the tune .all those guitar players you mentioned i love them all amongst many others .Thanks for liking my playing but it does span alot of years trying different things, at the moment i`m more into finger style acoustic guitar .i tend to post stuff on soundcloud nowadays, i sometimes forget i have a bandcamp account.
