I installed the latest driver, but am unable to access the control panel. I only see the “about” screen, but can’t get to the actual controls. I am having issues with clicking sounds and need to adjust the settings, but can’t do so. Can you please let me know what I need to do?
Thanks.
Same here.
I have the UR242.
Besides, when I unzip the installer package and check all the contents, it seems that it contains software for other products, but not UR242.
Hello Drgeert,
Please be aware that this update is only an updated version of the Yamaha Steinberg driver.
It’s not an updated TOOLS for UR242. To install the new driver, please follow the instructions on the download site for the UR242. First install the TOOLS for UR242 update and after that install the new driver version.
You can find the instructions here.

Hello jtrane,
Which UR audio interface do you use?

Hi Stefan!
I have installed Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver Version 1.9.8 in a MacPro 5.1 running OSX El Capitan (10.11.3).
1.- I try connect UR22 MKII without driver, and the OSX recognize it and works! But the OSX volume sound control are grey.
2.- I install Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver Version 1.9.8, restart and UR22 MKII is not recognized anymore.
3.- I update the firmware of UR22 MKII to v.1.0.2, restart and now OSX recognize UR22 MKII, but the volume sound control continue grey (disable).
4.- I have booted in Windows with a driver version 1.9.8 and the Windows Volume Sound Control WORKS!
Is normal that the OSX Volume Sound Control are disable when use UR22?
What advantage I have installing the driver?
With or without a driver have the same behavior… (with driver installed is needed update the firmware)
Thanks in Advance!
Gus
Hi Gus,
I have the UR28M, but I think besides that it should be the same. And yes its normal, the OS X sound volume is greyed and disabled when you choose, in my case the UR28M, your hardware. But it should not be greyed, when you choose the internal out/inputs under the system control panel for audio. See attached screenshots. Hope this helps.

Thanks, bigsoundsgood!
It’s a shame you can not control the volume from the OSX.
The strange thing is that from Windows if you can.

Gus
Seems to be more OS X related. Even if you build an aggregate device together with the system output, you cannot control via system.
Is this working for the UR44?
I have an incredible amount of hissing from all four outputs, no volume control at all, and the unspeakably loud test noise for speaker arrangement has me worried my left HS8 is damaged. I downloaded and installed this driver, and Tools for UR44, then uninstalled and reinstalled both, with no change.
Can anyone help? I’ve been dying to get my home studio set up for weeks, just got the interface, and the whole system is unusable.
