Newbie ' Vst's and Plugins dont load after Cubase 8 pro inst

Hi,

I’m new to this board. Hello everyone.

Forgive me if there is already a topic on this matter but I couldn’t find it.

I have been using Cubase 5.

Now I just bought Cubase 8 pro and installed it.

All is fine but when I logged into a recent project I noticed all my vst’s - PLugging FX and UAD FX were not loaded and missing.

I tried to tell Cubase to find them and tried Plugs manager. But it wont let me browse to folders where the missing stuff is it only lets my brows the desktop.

lastly I tried using shortcuts from original folders but that didn’t work.

Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated

In the Plugin Manager… click the small ‘gear’ icon, you can now see your pathes listed.

To add a path… click the ‘plus’ sign in the upper right corner. This will allow you to add a path and a dialog should open to allow you to specify your path.

Thank you, I tried this but when I click the + sign it only lets me browse the desktop ? and not add a path ?

I found a simple solution though,

I just went to the old vst plugin folders and copied all that was in them

.dll files and folders above.

Then I simply went to Program files/steinberg/cubase 8/ and the vst folder and pasted everything in there.

Now all my vst and FX and even my presets all show up and work perfectly with no errors.

Hope this helps people who experienced the same problem as me with the upgrade and installation.
