Hi All,
Please help me out on this one, i have a NI S49 connected to my Cubase 14 pro. (Win11 pro)
When i press the B3 key, the function ‘redo’ gets activated, when i press C#3 the ‘save’ funtion gets activated.
So the keys on my keyboard are using the “shift+contr+Z"and the cntrl S” midi commands
i have also Cubase 13 pro were this problem not appears, i have compared the midi and VST settings in both versions, but cannot find any difference.
There must be a setting to control the midi output for the keys of my NI S49 but i cant find it.
Anyone a suggestion were to look?
Thanks in advance, regards, Hanz
What you describe is probably due to wrong port selection in NI’s default implementation.
You can share a screenshot of your Studio→Studio Setup showing the ports used by NI’s implementation. There we should see port names having “DAW” in them, instead of “MIDI”.
Hi, thanks for your respond, i have included the screenshot you asked for. I have tried about every possible variations within these but my problem still occurs. And in Cubase 13 pro these settings are exacly the same and there i do not have this issue.
Please click on “Komplete Kontrol S-Series” so that we can see the ports in use by it.
I also see a midi remote. Do you have this one connected to your KK too?
I would go for checking every single instance of devices you have (midi remote, mackie controls, etc) and see whether anything is connected to KK’s KONTROL-1 port OR to the All MIDI. If you find something like this, you should set the proper port, instead of KK’s one or All MIDI. At the same time, I forgot to mention that you should exclude this DAW port from the “In ‘All’ MIDI”, but this is irrelevant for this issue.
OK will work on that, the mackie settings for Wing are specific,
Thanks for now, i have to play with my band so i’m off.
I will be back when i checked and let you know the results.
Well, it’s getting even stranger, after a couple of days, now the keys witch activated “save” and “undo” are now activate the functions “revert to the previous saved version” and “edit history”
I have made no changes to my set up, just checked all my midi connections and devices, tried all the variations possible with the checkboxes, but it seems that Cubase 14 pro recieves midi messages somewhere from my NI 49S. Very strange.
Once again, when i Quit 14 and startup 13 Pro, all works well, no problem at all no matter what kind of changes i make.
There must be an alternation in 14.
'Till i know where to look i’m using 13 with my NI, but that’s not why i bought 14…
Where are these commands registered? If they are in the section you earlier posted for the Kompete Kontrol S-Series setup in Cubase, I’d like to have a look.
I think in the appdata folder, have to dig in there, be back on that.
Meanwhile i found this in the Cubase 14 manual :
Select Edit > Key Commands.
Do one of the following:
Activate Press Key/Search Command [image], and press a key to verify if it is already assigned to a command.
Deactivate Press Key/Search Command [image], and in the Search Command field, enter the name of a Cubase function to verify if a key is already assigned to it.
Dont know if thats only for the PC keyboard or maybe i can de-activate keys/commands from my NI with it. Gonna try that as well.
No, i haven’t done anything with these commands, i will check if this list has changed since the last time,
I connected my nektar LX49, to compare. experienced no problems, the 'problem keys’B3 and C#3 respond just normal without doubled functions, so it has to be the script from NI.
Is there a way to reset/remove all the NI settings and reinstall them, more than just bin them, as far as you know?
