No audio playback from bass

I can hear the playback with all my midi instruments but there is no playback sound from my bass. I searched before I posted to not waste anyone’s time and all my inputs/outputs are fine. There’s a level when I record but nothing when I play back even though I can see the wav file.

Any suggestions?

The monitor button is enabled do you won’t as it’s listening to the input and not what is recorded. Disabled monitor and you will hear it (it’s the button next to the record enable button which is orangey/brown when enabled)

I really appreciate that info. Fixed :grinning:

So a follow up question is, do I have to disable the monitor button every time I want to audition a piece I have just played?

Yes you do. The question is why are you using the monitor button? Have you no other means to monitor the input? I use the audio interface direct monitoring. The monitor button is a switch between the input and the recorded track. They had thrm on analogue desks for the same reason to switch between recording and mixing.

I have an Evo 8 which works flawlessly in studio One but in Cubase, if I don’t have the monitor switched on, I don’t hear any sound and I don’t see any input levels. With the switch on, everything is fine but I have to switch it off to hear playback. I’m sure it’s something I am doing (or not)

Cubase doesn’t seem vert intuitive to me.

Deepest apologies, it looks like my input was turned down on the EVO 8 mixer. Not sure how that happened as I never touch it. I appreciate all your help though.
