Because I am having such a low volume in recording from a mic into cubase 13 via the Presonus SL16R mixer, and I have gotten nowhere with help from Presonus, I wanted to compare the volume with what I got on the older setup. So I still have cubase 8.5 on this other computer and I have 2 Firestudio Projects linked. I put the mic into the first input, 1 and set the device to this input. If I tap on the mic, I do see the FSP lighting up with each tap. But when I create an audio track, set it to mono 1 for the FSP and put S for solo, click the monitor and the record ready button, and tap on the mic, there is no signal on the channel. I can’t figure out what else might be wrong. I had recorded for years with this setup, but now haven’t in several.
This is the level I get in Cubase 13 or Studio One with the 16R.
What mic? Phantom power for the mic on?
It is on in the mixer and if I tap the mic harder it will go up to the red. It’s cubase that doesn’t register.
Are you on Mac or PC? Someone has recently posted about a very similar situation and it was on Mac, with the “noise cancellation” thing enabled in the Mac’s microphone setting. Additionally, having this feature on would cause the device to have a much higher input latency. Turning off noise cancellation fixed both issues.
