No Auto Saves Folder & Don’t delete files from the Hub

I opened a project that was created before the Auto Saves feature was available. I saved this file with Cubase 15 and with the option checked in the preferences.

However, the Auto Saves folder wasn’t created, so I don’t have a .bak file as a backup. I don’t know if Cubase 15 places them elsewhere on the disk.

This caused me inconvenience: file loss. In the Hub, you can delete a file by right-clicking, but if you delete a file from there, it’s completely lost. It’s not sent to the Trash, so there’s no way to recover it, unless some of you have found a location where Cubase 15 places files deleted from the Hub.

Has anyone experienced this?
I’m Windows 11 last update

On the one side you get prompted if you really want to delete a file, on the other side it seems to be a good idea to move the file into the trashcan rather than into the eternal void.

You’re right, we are warned before deletion, but having a safety measure wouldn’t hurt.

  1. Highlight the action with a beep to draw attention to it.

  2. Clearly state that the action is irreversible.

  3. Or allow the action to be undone via the Undo item in the Edit menu.

  4. Or direct the file to the Recycle Bin for a final chance to restore it if desired.

So, should this be requested as a Feature Request?

Yes, please. This is a feature-request.
