No autoplay for C15 Drum Track instruments?

I have no problems hearing autoplay from Drum Track midi drum loops with their kits.

But when I want to exchange instruments (Kick etc.) from the Drum Track instruments browser, I hear no autoplay from any of the instruments. But I need to hear the instruments for replacement.

How can this be fixed?

There is a Drum Track instrument browser? Can you post a screenshot?

you have to right click a pad and click search for instruments

EDIT: Didn’t notice that I was replying to OP @jim_knopf SMH :expressionless_face:

Does the autoplay work for you when you do that?

The audio samples from Find Samples work, but those instruments apparently need to be triggered by MIDI, and it seems like the MIDI isn’t making it to the Memo Recorder–so the previews don’t work. I can only head the instrument if I drag it to a pad.

I think he’s talking about that. With other VST instruments, the autoplay works after recording a Memo.

Okay, thanks. It neither works in the MediaBay itself. Oh well… it is what it is.

It should not even be necessary to use the memo recorder for instruments, as it is not for samples.

Whenever I click an instrument, it should just sound. Simple as that. That’s really basic functionality to be able to exchange Drum Track instruments, and should work like samples IMO.

There’s definitely something wrong, because I can’t trigger the drum sounds with MIDI notes. At least the hot swap preview works.

It shouldn’t be needed for triggering non-melodic instruments (and it’s not needed for audio samples)–but it makes sense for melodic VST instruments. Only you know what pitches, styles, tempo and velocities you’re interested in previewing.

Yes, of course I’m talking of not pitched instruments based on oneshots (drums, fx, oneshot musical content - or maybe with up to the four allowed layers of such material within the Drum Track).
