It worked. Now I have an icon and it opens.

I’m not sure how to resolve the window that opens when Dorico Pro 6 opens.

It says:

An essential component used by Dorico for playback has not been found.

Please run the Steinberg Download Assistant and install the following:

HALion Sonic 7 - Instrument

Groove Agent SE 5 - Instrument

I think Dorico (Steinberg) and Microsoft don’t play well together. Don’t know how to resolve it.

If you find and open Steinberg Download assistant, it should look like this (on the right) where it is showing my Dorico has been installed (green, and if I want to install it again). [Steinberg Download assistant] If there is no green, it should say to install. This only works if you have redeemed your activation code (see Redeem Code top left), which is what you receive after purchase with an email. Otherwise as @k_b has said, we really need more information from you, otherwise we are gue…

is Virtual instruments and libraries in the right panel. Click to expand and you will see the essential components listing there to install. Probably best to do this when Dorico is not open.

I do not usually use Groove Agent so I see the message each time Dorico opens. There might be a way to turn it off so it does not tell me, but the reminder is there if I decide to use it so I leave it as it is. HALion is what you might need, it is the default sound library for Dorico so you can hear instruments play, if this is useful for you.
(After which, you can purchase/install other sample libraries if you wish)
