Good morning,
I upgraded my Cubase 10.5 version to the new 14 element version.
I use X air 18 as interface.
I assign all my audio inputs and outputs in studio, studio configuration etc.
I only have an audio signal on input 1 and 2 and I can record.
But the other inputs, I have no input signal.
I think I have checked everything according to my knowledge.
All inputs and outputs indicate that they are active etc. With version 10.5 everything worked normally.
Can you help me.
THANKS.
Screencaps of audio connections/inputs and track inspector showing inputs above 2 selected may help.
Also confirmation that 10.5 is still installed on the same machine and working ok??
Hi,
Cubase 10.5 also works less well. There are problems.
Can I and would it be ok to erase version 10.5 on my PC.
Thank you for answering me.
But does 10.5 allow you to access all the XR18 inputs is what I’m asking.
Can you post the screencaps? Otherwise there isn’t much to work with.
Doesn’t XR18 have a dedicated driver…I really would avoid Steinberg built in at all cost…just plug headphones directly into the XR18 and use it for output too…if you really must use the built in driver check it’s control panel has all i/o enabled.
Hi,
It’s not the exit that’s my problem.
This is because I don’t have the input signals from the xr-18 on inputs 3 to 18 of Cubase 14 element.
I understand the problem but it’s hard to help when you don’t answer questions (are the inputs available on C10.5 with the same setup) and you don’t want to try any suggestions either. (Not using the very poor Steinberg driver).
Isn’t the Steinberg built-in ASIO driver a new driver that wasn’t even available in Cubase 10.x? Also, on my system I cannot select more that one input and output when using that driver.
Which driver did you use in Cubase 10.5?
I agree with @Grim, the build-in ASIO-driver is not what you should use, it is intended only for devices that don’t have their own ASIO driver, mainly onboard sound chips on laptops etc. I don’t think it is made for multichannel recording.
If the XR18 doesn’t have an dedicated ASIO-driver, ASIO4All would be the best option
Hi Boys,
Excuse me if maybe it’s not clear sometimes.
I am French-speaking and I translate the texts.
To answer your questions, Cubase 10.5 also does not work well since I upgraded to 14.
With C 10.5 the driver I used was generic low latency asio driver.
With C-14 element it was Steinbergbuilt-in asio driver.
Question,
1-Should you use the same driver for 10.5 and 14?
Since I have C-14, do I go through C-10.5 or not when I use 14?
If not can I delete version 10.5 and 14 1t and start from scratch.
How do I get the asio4all drive?
Tank you for your help, I appreciate it

You don’t need to reinstall Cubase, and you can use different drives for different Cubase versions.
But it seems there is a driver for the XR18 from Behringer availabel:
https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=0605-AAD
(under downloads. get the * X18 USB Audio Driver Version 5.12.0").
Have you installed that? If not, try it, might be the best option.
The “BEST” driver to use would be the Behringer own driver. But it will not allow you to use the built in speakers/headphone socket as output.
I would at least try to get things working with the Behringer driver at first and if there are still issues we will know it’s not driver related and can look at other things.
