No license found after windows disk clean up

i also found this might be useful info

Hi,

This is your Cubase 11 license (sitting on the USB-eLicenser), which you updated to Cubase 12 in the past. Thanks to this Cubase 11 license, you can start Cubase Pro 11 and older Cubase versions (if the USB-eLinceser is plugged in to your computer).

I lost the USB elicenser

Hi,

But you still own the license, as you can see in your MySteinberg account.

what steps should i take to use the license

Hi,

This is a Cubase Pro 11 license, not Cubase 13, as we discussed before.

To get a new USB-eLicenser with your old (Cubase 11) license, follow this article, please.

I upgraded to cubase 13 and have been using it all along without the dongle .

Hi,

A day ago, you sent this screenshot:

I then deactivated it as per instruction that’s why it’s not showing now

Hi everyone

I got a replacement usb elicenser and have managed to move the licences however im still getting this error

I have seen Hard disk based license usually also has reference of the position of that file in the hard disk. If you do any disk cleaning and the disk cleaning software moves it to another location, the license will fail. One way to recover is restore the registry to the date prior to the date of dis cleaning, which may or may not work in your case.

You wrote that you reinstalled Activation Manager. But what does it mean exactly? Did you uninstall it and restarted the computer before installing it back?

Hi @Shephard_Nyowerwi_Mu,
could you make sure that C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\Activation Manager\SteinbergLicenseEngine.exe exists? You might have cleaned that up too.
If it isn’t there, uninstall the Steinberg Activation Manager and run the Steinberg Download Assistant after that to reinstall it.

I reinstalled windows and it worked
