No metronome sound

Hello - So, I have metronome selected in CR and on the project window bottom, but have no sound. IMAGINE pressing play and nothing happens. It can be, . . . well, let’s just say it’s embarrassing. Anyone know how to tell Cubase to play sound when metronome is engaged?

The meters in CR are bouncing but - no audio.

Check this please :
Transport- metronome setup-in first "general"page, at “Select Audio click options”
select “stereo out”
