No more preferences tab

When I go to edition the preferences tab does not appear.
I restarted, opened cubase without opening projects but also by opening some
it does not change anything

Hi,

What do you mean by edition? Do you mean the Edit menu? Are you on Mac or Windows?

It probably got lost in translation but there is no preferences tab in Cubase. There is a menu item “Preferences”, which opens the Preferences dialog.
Is that you are referring to?

There is the Cubase menu bar
In the cubase menu bar there is Edit
You go in Edit
Normally at the very end in the edit menu there was “preferences”

Please try to temporarily deactivate your program preferences.
You can do this by holding down the keys
PC: Ctrl + Alt + Shift
Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift
when launching Cubase.

Chose the “Diable” option in the upcoming dialog.

Hi,

This is correct on Windows.

On Mac we have the standardized way: Application name (Cubase) > Preferences (or Settings in the current macOS).

Thanks Johnny , but that doesn’t solve the problem,
I need to go to Preferences.
I don’t understand why it disappeared
It was there before yesterday.

Hi,

Could you attach a screenshot of the Edit menu, please?

Before it was at the very end
After "Emoji and symbols

I have never seen any options such as “Start dictation” or “Emojis and symbols” in Cubase, no matter the version. Something is obviously wrong in your setup…

So, I would suggest a relaunch of Cubase, but in safe mode this time, with the Disable program preferences option.

Hi,

As I said, it’s different on Mac.

Hi,

These are native macOS Edit menu items.

As Martin wrote, you are in the wrong menu. Open the menu “Cubase”.

Ok thanks everyone, I’ll go through the Cubase menu now
