No more sound... because of my licence?

Hi,

I have just finished my trial period on Dorico 6, and the software now seems to open automatically on Dorico SE. However, I no longer have any sound. Can you help me? Thank you.

PS: Drum sounds are ok!

You would probably have to reapply the Auto playback template. (Dorico SE does not include the HSO or Iconica Sketch libraries)

Thank you. How can I do that?

Play>Playback Template…

Also in Preferences>Play>Playback Template make sure the Auto box is checked…

Thank you. I did this and the sound don’t play again.

You probably should post your diagnostic file here so someone can take a look at your setup…
Do Help>Create Diagnostic Report and upload the zip file that appears on your desktop.

Dorico Diagnostics.zip (2,2 Mo)

Ok, thanks.

Thanks for the data, @Clamtriestoplay .

But actually, the logs and things do all look normal, so I could not find the smoking gun…

What if you start the playback, do in the mixer window the VU Meter indicators start dancing, especially next to the red, master fader?

I think you’re speaking about this. Well, the fader doesn’t seems to work.

Here are my specifications in the preference window. I tried to pu “silence” instead of “Halion”, and I tried to check or not the button “use the automatic playback”.

And here is my specification in the “play (lecture)” pannel. Even with “silence” above, HALION sonic stays.

and I don’t know what else to choose.

Might some setting have changed in your output device?

Input/Output configuration

Preferences → Play → Audio Device Setup → Device Control Panel → Input/Output configuration

Many thanks @kiwimusic , and sorry because I should have let the community know, that in the meantime I had a remote session with Christophe and we sorted his sound problems already.

Hello everyone, thank you Janus, Ulf and kiwimusic for your replies.

I can now play all my tracks again after purchasing the Element licence. I’m just a little surprised because the free version was supposed to allow me 8 players.

That would have been more than enough for me.

Oh well, never mind. Now I have another problem: with the free trial version of the pro version, all I had to do was specify PIZZ. on a string instrument staff to play it pizzicato. Now that no longer works.

I can get a pizzicato sound by digging around in the HALION sound library,

but it sounds not the same, and that prevents me from switching from pizzicato to arco. Besides, I remember that this caused ghost sound problems; I had another discussion on the subject.

Do you have any ideas to make the pizz. function work?

Thank you.

Try to reapply the playback template (auto) under the Play menu.

Hi Jesele,

I imagine you speak about

then

Well, I’ve selected “auto” and now

no more instrument! So, I choose HALION

my instruments come back

and my pizzicato don’t work.

Sorry, I only have/use Noteperformer, so maybe someone else has better advice.

Jesper

The problem of pizzicato is another one than what the title suppose to be. So, I begin a new discussion called ”What does my pizzicato become?”

Thank you everybody and See you soon!
