No Other Sound When Cubase is Open

Upgraded from Cubase 5 to 7 today. When 5 was open, I could play sound in any other program (browser, windows media player, whatever). After installing 7 today, everything outside of Cubase is muted. If I try to open something in Windows Media Player, it says it had a problem playing that file.

Any suggestions? Driver is installed/current and activated

I think you need to find the preference ‘release driver when in background’ or something of that nature.
