No output signal when using ASIO Fireface USB in Cubase 15

I’ve recently got a new PC running windows 11. I downloaded the trail of Cubase 15 and for a week it ran smoothly with my RME Babyface Pro audio interface using ASIO Fireface USB.

Several days ago I changed the buffer size to reduce latency within Studio Setup. Since then Cubase has had no output on any track - midi, audio, stereo out - when using ASIO Fireface USB. The playhead moves but there is simply no signal. If I change to Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver everything functions as normal (apart from not being able to use the Babyface Pro’s speaker output (only headphones) or it’s audio inputs).

At RME’s tech support’s suggestion I have tried ASIO Fireface USB in Reaper on the same machine. It functions well with no issues when changing buffer size.

I have reinstalled Cubase 15 via the Steinberg Download Assistant and also reinstalled the latest RME driver and flash update which hasn’t changed anything.

If anyone has any suggestions, I’d be most grateful.

I usually change the settings in RME´s MADIface setting app and then start cubase. Mine is Digiface. Also how does the audio connections in cubase look like after changing buffer size?

Hi Jari, thanks for the reply. Is it best to adjust the buffer settings outside of Cubase then? Here are my aduio connctions and studio setup.

Here are

Your output is not active, since it´s greyed. Can you click on it to active the channels?
Can you try creating new bus with new output?

Thank you Jari, changing the buffer settings reset ASIO Fireface USB and it’s behaving itself again

I have the same issue. I am the RME Fireface 802. Built a new PC using AMD Ryzen 7 and Win 11. Installation of everything went well. Cubase 15 does not produce any audio until I change buffer size or WDM value or sample rate in RME USB settings. I found TESTING AUDIO DEVICE" at Cubase project launch page ( top right corner ) produces audio and then everything works normally within Cubase
