I am new to this forum and new to Dorico. I am running Dorico SE 5.1.81.2225. I have tried suggestions as presented in the Anthony Huges tutorial without success. The Yamaha piano shows an output, but nothing out of the speakers. I can provide more details if needed.

Please create a new project from piano template and enter few arbitrary notes. Then choose from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report which will create a DoricoDiagnosticsReport.zip on your Desktop. That zip file please attach to a reply here. That will give me a first general overview and then I will be able to come up with more specific advice. Thanks

Thank you for your quick reply. When I did as you asked I got sound. When I went back to a similar previously made file I did not. So I am attaching two diagnostics to the reply. One has “piano” appended to the the title which works. The other has “sax” appended to the the title. Hope this helps.
Many thanks again for hearing from you. I have spent many hours “spinning my wheels” over the weekend trying different entries into the setup parts of Dorico without success.

Hi Richard, thanks for the data.
It’s pretty easy. Go to the Play Mode and have a look at the mixer section. On the left most is the channel for DoricoBeep, the instrument that generates the beep for the metronome. Now, this channel is in Solo mode, i.e. all other channels are muted and therefore no sound. So press the red lit button with the S inside and you will get sound back.
Thank you for that. I have it working with your tip. As a real elder beginner on these things it is a bit baffling to process all the understanding required to get projects up and going.
Now I can work on writing “music licks” to practice so I can hear how a phrase is played by the Dorico App
