Everyone: is there a support phone number?

What is your problem with the update from Cubase 8.5? Which version is it, Pro, Artist, Elements?

If your license is registered in your online profile you can simply buy the update in the Online Shop on the website.

And there are phone numbers, depending on where you live. You can find them here

Hi Juergen.

Many thanks for responding. There are no phone numbers there. If I click on Contact Support, it takes me back to the same page where there is only online support. What number could I call? I can phone internationally. The support ticket has this description:

We wish to upgrade to Cubase 15 Pro on a new PC. The old machine is unusable. Before purchasing the upgrade for 207 GBP, we need to confirm that we will be able to activate it. The Steinberg account is not showing any products or devices. Details from the Order Confirmation of the last upgrade follow. Please advise how we should proceed. [Previous order details and activation code supplied.]

We had an USB licenser which I have read is now defunct. A FAQ page says that Support should be able to assist with this given the previous order and activation details.

Hi Doug,

on the page Jürgen linked, you can click on “Software Support” which opens a dialog window where you can select your country and then navigate to the page listing the phone numbers. For the UK, I get this one:

The servers are defunct but the usb elicenser should still work. In theory you will be able to install elicenser control centre, plug in your usb elicenser and read it’s serial number. Register it in MySteinberg with this number and assuming it accepts registration you can then safely buy and run the upgrade.

That said I have seen some reports of elicenser registration not working but according to Steinberg it should still be possible.

Thanks, Grim. I will phone support first, but try your idea later if necessary.

The support number would not have been manned until tomorrow, so I followed the advice from @Grim “to install elicenser control centre, plug in your usb elicenser and read it’s serial number”.

I then tried to register that in MySteinberg, but it said the key was already registered to another account, at which point I discovered it was in a different one created by my son. (I’m the technie, he’s the musician.)

Once we had reset the password and gained access, we could see the details already there for 8.5 Pro. We have since purchased the 15 Pro upgrade which activated just fine. Thanks for your input, everyone.
