I have a problem trying to reinstall cubase EL on my daughter’s new laptop. It is currently installed on an old laptop but want to reinstall it on this new device.
I have installed the Soft-eLicenser to reactivate/install and am online logged in to MySteinberg.
But when trying to register the eLCC, I don’t see and eLCC number. I only see a blanked at message “Register all eLicensers at MySteinberg”.
Also, the field beneath the green “enter activation code”-button doesn’t show any available licenses
I’ve googled around but cannot find a solution to this problem. I cannot find a way to log in to the eLCC specifically either…
If I understand your situation correctly, you might need to try this …
Soft-eLicenser (virtual license container) is missing – Steinberg Support
Which version of LE are you dealing with? There is a chance you can get a new code for LE 13 if you contact support. This would use the new(ish) Steinberg Licensing system instead of the soon to be obsolete eLicenser. Or you could upgrade to Elements 13 for a reasonable price.
eLicenser Service Closes Down in 2025 | Steinberg
This was the solution.
Thx a lot!!!
It’s an older version (8) so I’ll just use that one.
Thx again

That’s cool, but after “early 2025” you won’t be able to reactivate or update/upgrade Cubase LE 8. That’s why I suggested trying to update it to 13 for free. At least then you would be able to take advantage of upgrade discounts in the future, if desired.
Because it’s really old (8), I didn’t think it was worth pursuing a free update… But you’re right, I can try.
Thx for the help!
