Hi there,
I just opened a project that I did not open some time. Dorico tells me that this project was created in version 6.2.10 and that it will be updated automatically. After opening I started playback and some instruments will play while others will not.
Besides a Groove Agent SE instance there is one Halion Sonic instance with 4 instruments. The drums play back correctly, Halion Sonic does not. One of the Halion Sonic instruments (channel 4) will also play back correctly, the first will not play at all and the two in the middle (channel 2 and 3) will play only ultra short staccato sounds.
When I select one of these instruments in the score and play it on my MIDI keyboards all sounds play fine. Only play back from Dorico has the problem.
Any ideas what could be wrong with my project?
Have you tried reapplying the playback template?
Play → Playback Template (Auto e.g.)
Yes, that was one of my first tries. “Auto” does not work either.
Posting a cut down version of the project would help diagnose this.

What I tried meanwhile:
- importing the project to Cubase 15 → same result
- exporting MIDI from Dorico, importing in Cubase → same result
- importing MIDI from Dorico into REAPER → everything works fine

It plays back fine with my Dorico (latest version). All instruments are present, all sounds routed correctly… sorry I couldn’t be more help.
In opposite, this helped me a lot. It reminded me on a situation where I had some audio glitches after downloading a system update without rebooting my computer. So I rebooted - and now it works.
