No sound in Cantai trial version

I’ve successfully installed Cantai for a trial, and the Play window shows what it should. However, there is no sound, and nothing is being sent to the mixer. (This is even after a full reboot.) The Cantai window is telling me to activate the program, but I can’t do that until I pay for the full version. I’ve read all the online instructions and suggestions, but without success so far. What else should I try?

The screenshot shows only the Cantai VST instances.
Are they individually assigned to the voice tracks in the Track Inspector tab?

Do you get no sound at all or only no sound from Cantai?

What if you switch the metronome on, does that produce sound?

The numbers all match in the Track Inspector window (channels 2,3,4,5 for the SATB respectively.

Yes, the metronome sounds when switched on.

Just a thought - I use an external sound card (Focusrite Scarlett) - does the Cantai setup need to know that? (It works fine with NotePerformer.)
Also, the Expression Map shows ‘default’, and I can’t find any Cantai options in the dropdown.

Dumb question: Did you click on the styled e in the Track Inspector and choose a Cantai voice for each track?

It seems to have populated itself, but if I do click the reclining ‘e’ it causes the cantai window to appear (see screenshot) and stops me from doing anything further on that point. (It seems to want an activation token, which only applies to the fully paid version.)

I guess there is an activation token even for the trial version in your profile on Cantai.
The trial version is just restricted to 30 seconds rendering.

I’ve never used Cantai myself, but I strongly believe that @Vadian is correct with what he wrote.

Excellent point! When I first googled this, the reply was that I didn’t need a token, but that I’d be restricted to 30 seconds playback (which had already been made clear in Cantai’s advertising).

Now I’ve asked again, and - yes - I have to create a free account at the Cantai app! That wasn’t clear in any of the responses I’d previously got. So I’ll be creating that account pronto. Thanks, @Vadian.

SUCCESS! The token worked, and now I have sound.
The interpretation of the score will need significant tweaking, but I’ve now got something I can work with. Thanks all.
