Hello,
I 'm using Cubase Elements 14 and can’t get any sound to come out. I’m using the built-in Steinberg driver paired with my JBL Tune 720BT headphones, and while I see the volume levels rise when I hit a note in my plugin or play some automation, no sound comes out.
I thought it might be an issue with my headphones, but nothing comes out of my computer monitor’s speakers, either. I eventually hit F4 and found that my Audio Inputs channel is blank. And yet, my Audio Outputs channel shows my headphones. I have no idea what the problem is.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi and welcome to the forum,
The Input Channel doesn’t matter in this case.
If the Output Channel shows the Headphones, I wouldn’t expect the signal from the speakers. Where are your speakers connected to, please? Could we see, what kind of options (Output buses) do you have available in the Audio Connections > Outputs?
These are the outputs available when I connect my headphones.
Hi,
In this case, I would expect the sound in the headphones.
Can you see the meters on the given Audio/Instrument Track and on the Stereo Out Channel?
Yes, the instrument is playing like it should. I can see the meters just fine.
Okay, I have an update.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally connected my Yamaha PSR-E373 as a USB-midi controller. The Steinberg driver recognized it, and connecting that somehow allowed me to FINALLY hear the audio from my headphones.
I just wish I knew why that’s the case. I also tried unplugging the USB mid-session and that screwed up the sound again. So it looks like I’ve got to leave the setup alone once it’s in place.
