No Sound in write or play mode

Hello,

I’m quite new here, finding my way in dorico elements 4 and happy to have my first flow ready. But unfortunately I have no sound at all, not when writing and not in play mode. I can see the blue line moving through the score, but no sound. I watched a tutorial on sound issues in Dorico and checked all that was mentioned that might be the problem, but everything seems fine, except for the sound control panel: there’s no visual for the sounds either. I have all the updates installed and running and I’m using windows 11 on a Asus X515 laptop. Is there a compatibility problem maybe? What else can I do?

Welcome, @Bianca .

Could you use the Help menu to create a Diagnostic Report and post it here as soon as your “Trust Level” allows? That will help @Ulf and others in the know diagnose what is silencing your Dorico implementation.

there’s no visual for the sounds either.

Do you mean there’s no activity at all when you open the Mixer?

If so, you might want to try going to Edit > Device Setup and changing the ASIO Driver and the Output Device!

while your non-sounding project is open, please do from the menu Help > Create Diagnostic Report and send the corresponding zip file to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much to everybody who tried to help me find a solution to my sound problem.

The way it looks now, it’s all working. Very happy about that, but can’t tell what I did differently. I shut down the computer, started it up again, opened the program and suddenly it worked!
